How is the HDPE Geomembrane used?

HDPE Geomembrane is often used in anti-sicker projects of landfills, landfill sites, wastewater treatment plants, artificial lakes, and other anti-sicker projects.

What should be considered before building an HDPE Geomembrane?

The composition of the HDPE Geomembrane consists of gluing geotextiles to one or both sides of the film to form a composite sealing pathway. Its shape includes a cloth and a film, two towels and a film, two films and a cloth, etc.

Geotextile is used as a protective layer of the HDPE Geomembrane to protect the impermeable layer from damage. In order to reduce ultraviolet radiation and increase the anti-aging performance, best use the buried method for laying.

What should be considered when designing HDPE Geomembranes?

When building HDPE sealing rails, first use sand or clay with a smaller material diameter to level the support surface and then move the sealing track. The HDPE Geomembrane should not be stretched too strongly. The part of the buried ground at both ends is rolled. Finally, a layer of about 10cm with fine sand or clay is placed on the sealing track. 20-30cm stone blocks (or concrete parts) as a protective layer against erosion. During construction care should be taken that stones do not directly hit the HDPE Geomembrane, and best to build up the protective layer during laying the film. The connection between the composite sealing track and the surrounding structures should be anchored by means of spray nozzles and steel sheet plates. The connection part of the HDPE Geomembrane should be coated with emulsified asphalt (2 mm thick) to prevent leakage.

What should be considered after building an HDPE Geomembrane?

The joint treatment of HDPE Geomembranes is a key process that directly affects the anti-sicker effect. The general sewing methods are:

The width of the coupling joint should be greater than 15 cm;

Hot welding: Suitable for a slightly thicker geomembrane substrate, and the coating width of the weld seam is not less than five cm. (Gluing is not recommended, long soaking in water allows the glue to open easily and the antisicker effect is bad.)

After many years of practice, the thickness of the HDPE Geomembrane is no less than 0.25 mm, too thin can lead to pores and can be slightly damaged during construction and reduce the anti-sicker effect. In the construction of geomembranes, particular care must be taken that the laying does not have to be too narrow, not folded and the split must be firm. The design must strictly comply with the technical specifications and the five quality barriers preparation, laying, splitting, inspection and filling must be complied with.
